Warner Bros. Discovery has been in the news a lot lately for all of the strange business decisions they’ve been making with several of the film and TV projects that have been in development. They most recently announced that both Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom were being delayed. Because of that, a lot of fans have been wondering what the future holds for DC’s The Flash movie.
The Flash has been a big priority for the studio, but then the film’s star Ezra Miller went on a crazy spree that left the studio executives shaking their heads and wondering what they are going to do with the film. Well, the studio has been testing the movie with audiences and apparently, people are loving it!
According to a recent report fromThe Hollywood Reporter, the studio is still "hopeful" that The Flash will be a big success despite Miller and the issues that they have. The movie is reportedly receiving the "highest scores at test screenings since Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight movies." This is great news, and it has led WB to believe they have a "critical and box office hit on their hands."
When it was announced that Michael Keaton would be back as Batman, I knew the film was going to be a big hit because everyone wants to see Michael Keaton back in the role of Batman! I’m not going to see this movie for Ezra Miller’s The Flash, I’m going to see this movie for Keaton’s Batman! I think that goes for most people, and I don’t think WB understands that.
As for Miller, they’ve already released an apology and they’ve apparently met with the executives at Warner Bros. Discovery in an attempt to reassure them about the film’s future. I think it’s safe to say that Miller’s time as The Flash is over, but I’m looking forward to watching this movie when it’s eventually released.
The movie is currently scheduled to hit theaters on June 23rd, 2023.
