The first trailer for an upcoming psychological slasher thriller titled Piggy. The film tells the dark story of a bullied overweight teen named Sara, and her bullies find themselves being brutally kidnapped. Sara witnesses this and lets the kidnapper get away with it.
This looks like an intense thriller that tells a fascinating story involving serious social issues. The Spanish horror film comes from writer and director Carlota Pereda and this is the synopsis:
With the summer sun beating down on her rural Spanish town, Sara hides away in her parent’s butcher shop. A teenager whose excess weight makes her the target of incessant bullying, she flees a clique of capricious girls who torment her at the town pool, only to stumble upon them being brutally kidnapped by a stranger, who drives off with them in his van. When the police begin asking questions, Sara keeps quiet. Intrigued by the stranger — an interest that’s mutual — she’s torn between revealing the truth and protecting the man who saved her.
Piggy was screened at the Sundance Film Festival last year and Magnet Releasing is set to release it on October 14, 2022.
