The director of The Warriors and 48 Hrs., Walter Hill, has directed a new western thriller titled Dead For a Dollar, and he managed to bring a pretty solid ensemble cast along for the ride. The movie stars Christoph Waltz, Willem Defoe, Rachel Brosnahan, Benjamin Bratt, Brandon Scott, and Hamish Linklater.

The film follows Veteran bounty hunter Max Borlund who “is deep into Mexico where he encounters professional gambler and outlaw Joe Cribbens – a sworn enemy he sent to prison years before. Max is on a mission to find and return Rachel Kidd, the wife of a wealthy businessman, who as the story is told to Max, has been abducted by Buffalo Soldier Elijah Jones. Max is ultimately faced with a showdown to save honor.”

We’ve got a trailer for you to watch for the movie, which has an old-school western movie vibe to it and I dig it. While the film didn’t have a big budget to work with, I love the cast and I hope it ends up telling a good story. I’m always up for a western, So I’ll definitely be checking this one out.

Dead for a Dollar opens on September 30th.
