We’ve got good news for all you fans of Unsolved Mysteries! Netflix has announced that the show is coming back for a third season, or volume, as the streamer is referring to it. The first six episodes, known as volume one, aired in July 2020, and volume two launched in October 2020.
Following the launch of the first twelve episodes, over 5,000 tips have been submitted to the Unsolved Mysteries team. Renewed interest in one case highlighted in the series – the investigation into Alonzo Brooks’ death – encouraged the FBI to reopen the case.
The series comes from the original creators Cosgrove/Meurer Productions and Stranger Things exec producer Shawn Levy’s 21 Laps Entertainment. It will feature more unexplained disappearances, tragic events, and bizarre occurrences – the first two volumes have included stories such as a strange death in Oslo, tsunami spirits in Japan, and UFOs in Massachusetts.
Unsolved Mysteries is set to return on Tuesday, October 18th. Slated as a three-night event, the series will release episodes weekly; the new episodes will roll out on October 18, October 25, and November 1. As of right now, Netflix has yet to announce the official episode count for the third installment, but as the other two volumes were comprised of 6 episodes each, that seems to be likely.
I am stoked for a new season of Unsolved Mysteries! It’s a great show, and I’ve loved what they’ve done with the reboot so far. Will you be tuning in to Netflix to watch Volume 3?
