Jason Momoa has recently been teasing a mystery "dream” project that he has brewing over at DC Studios under the new leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran. There are rumors growing that this project will be a Lobo movie, and now the actor is getting questions about that on his current press tour for Netflix’s Slumberland.

During a recent interview with CBR, when he was asked about this rumor, he didn’t come out and confirm the news. But, he did say that fans will be very excited about what’s coming. He said:

"Well I have to obviously blink, so there's no way I can get out of this without blinking, but you know that would be amazing if that happened. I'm just happy that [James] Gunn is at the helm and [Peter] Safran, who is just like my heart. So I'm in good hands and I think comic book fans around the world are going to be very excited."

There’s a very good chance that this movie could eventually happen one day. Lobo also seems like the kind of character that James Gunn would love to see played with in a DC film. It would certainly be interesting to see Momoa playing two separate DC characters in the same universe, if Gunn and Safran decide to continue with the current direction of the DCEU.

Gunn previously teased what he’s currently working on with Safran for the DC Cinematic Universe, saying that they are looking to tell the biggest story ever told across multiple films:

"But all our initial focus is on the story going forward, hammering out the new DCU, & telling the Biggest Story Ever Told across multiple films, television shows, & animated projects. We invite all of the DC fandoms from across the multiverse – and everyone else as well – into this new universe. We can't wait to reveal more."

Lobo could easily fit into that plan, and Momoa is a perfect fit for the role! Gunn recently talked about his ideas for the future of DC Studios, saying that they’re already planning out the next eight to ten years:

“The opportunity to make DC as great as it can be and as it should be — that is the reason why I’m doing this job, because I know that Peter and I can do that. We spent the past couple days with a group of some of the best thinkers in the industry, the best writers in the industry starting to map out that eight to 10 year plan of what it’s going to look like in theater, in TV, in animation, across the board for these characters.”

Safran added:

“This was such a unique opportunity to tell one great overarching story. One beautiful big story across film, television gaming, live-action, and animation.”

Bring it on guys! Let’s see what kind of epic DC universe you’ll build for us! I’m ready! While we wait for more details, what are your thoughts on the possibility of Momoa playing Lobo!?
