Dwayne Johnson has shared some new photos from the set of his upcoming Christmas action film Red One. These photos feature J.K. Simmons as Santa Claus, and he got super ripped for the role! Good grief! Simmons is a madman! But, he’s a kind madman. Johnson shared the following note with the photos:

"Ladies, gents & children of all ages, the coolest, strongest & kindest Santa Claus ever. Academy Award winner J.K. Simmons got in incredible shape for our Christmas franchise film."

The images show Simmons pumping iron with Johnson and showing off his physique.

Two main characters in the story are named Callum Drift and Jack O’Malley, and Chris Evans also stars in the movie. The project is billed as a globe-trotting, four-quadrant action-adventure comedy imagining a whole new universe to explore within the holiday genre. Johnson previously described it as being “Hobbs meets Miracle on 34th Street.”

Screenwriter Chris Morgan wrote the screenplay for Red One, and he previously worked with the company on several Fast & Furious franchise films. The movie is being directed by Jumanji franchise director Jake Kasdan, and it also stars Kiernan Shipka and Lucy Liu.

The movie will be coming to Amazon, but there’s no release date yet.
