Marvel’s Hawkeye spinoff series Echo seems to be going through some major problems. Earlier this month, series head writer Marion Dayre said the series wouldn’t be released until December 2023 or some point after. Now Murphy's Multiverse is saying that Echo won’t debut until "early 2024."

There have been reports regarding some behind-the-scenes issues on the project. One report came out saying they were “very very concerned about Echo. Previous Marvel [productions] have been reported to have problems but have come out ok, so I generally don't get that concerned, but...I am concerned. Hoping I'm wrong to be."

The report went on to say: "My understanding is the issues I'm hearing about (and others) with Echo are with the production itself. Not the character, actress, or even the Daredevil/Kingpin stuff."

There are also reports that the project was shut down in the middle of post-production and at one point it was said that Marvel might pull a DC and cancel the series in the same way DC canceled Batgirl. But, according to the showrunner and this recent report, that might not be the case, and we’re just going to have to wait a lot longer before it’s released.

Marvel is obviously trying to figure out some things regarding the series, though, they have some decisions to make. The series was originally supposed to be released in early 2023.

In the series, "the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward."

The Echo series is being developed by Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen, who are writers and executive producers on the show. The series stars Alaqua Cox, Charlie Cox, Vincent D'Onofrio, Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, Devery Jacobs, and Graham Greene.
