Amazon Prime Video has released a promo clip for the highly-anticipated long-awaited second season of Robert Kirkman’s animated adaptation of Invincible. Amazon has been teasing that they would be delivering some big this month for the show and here we go!
The clip features Mark Grayson, a.k.a. Invincible, sitting in a Burger Mart diner with Allen the Alien. Allen is busy eating a burger while Invincible is telling him what he’s been up to, and it gets meta as he shares he’s been busy developing Season 2 of Invincible. Allen gets a little annoyed and asks for a specific day for the season to be released, and Mark tells him late 2023.
Series star Steven Yeun talked about the upcoming season and shared that Kirkman is incredibly excited about what’s coming in the next chapter of the story. He said:
"[Kirkman's] super excited about it. He thinks season 2 is gonna be even better than season 1, which I have no doubt about. If you go to his source material, Invincible is an incredible comic, and just thinking about how much story hasn't been told from that run, it's gonna be bonkers. I'm really excited about it."
Invincible revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Yeun), who's just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). The ending of the first season was insane as it ended with Omni-Man's twisted true intentions being revealed. I’m excited to see how the story continues to play out in Season 2!
The series also stars Sandra Oh, Zazie Beetz, Gillian Jacobs, Zachary Quinto, Jason Mantzoukas, Melise, Mark Hamill, Mahershala Ali, Seth Rogen, and more.
