For those of you wondering what’s going on with Robert Kirkman’s live-action Invincible movie, I’ve got some good news for you… it’s still happening! It’s been a while since we’ve had any kind of update on the project, which was announced six years ago, but Kirkman recently confirmed that the movie is still moving forward.
During a recent interview with CB, Kirkman said: "We're very much still working on that. Sometimes movies take a little bit longer. I think it's safe to say, if anything, the show has just helped that immensely. People are very excited about that movie potential at Universal. So we're riding that excitement and trying to push things forward as quickly as possible."
The project is set up at Universal Pictures and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are still attached to write the movie and possibly direct it. I’m curious to see how this movie turns out and if it will go just has hard as the comic and animated series.
Invincible is described as a suspenseful, action-filled, emotion-packed story that builds upon poignant and heartwarming moments of love, friendship, and humanity. The story revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson, who’s just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man. But as Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.
Hopefully they can get this film project up and running sooner rather than later! Now is the time to strike when people are excited about it!
