Netflix has released a new trailer for Lockwood & Co. a supernatural ghost-hunting adventure series that comes from writer and director Joe Cornish, the talent behind the super fun movies Attack the Block and The Kid Who Would Be King.
This looks like my kind of show! I really dig the visual style and adventurous tone, and I think Cornish is going to deliver a great series! In this story, a “girl with extraordinary psychic abilities joins two gifted teen boys at a small ghost-hunting agency to fight the many deadly spirits haunting London.”
The series is based on the supernatural novels by Jonathan Stroud, and it’s a perfect project for Cornish to work on! Cornish previously talked about the series saying: "[A ghost] can make you jump or it can scare, but in terms of actual physical threat, movies sometimes struggle. Suddenly, you're in a new kind of ghost story, where you can arm yourself against a ghost and use skill and intelligence and tactics to outsmart it."
The series stars Ruby Stokes as Lucy Carlyle, Cameron Chapman as Anthony Lockwood, and Ali Hadji-Heshmati as George Karim. The movie is set to be released on January 27th, 2023.
