I’m sure that Liam Neeson loves it every time he goes into an interview and is asked about Star Wars and if he would reprise his role of Jedi master Qui-Gon Jinn in a Star Wars spinoff. He was asked about it last week and he said no, and he was recently asked the question again and he said, “No, I’m not.”

This time, however, Neeson expanded on his thoughts on Star Wars and made it clear that he’s not a fan of the direction that Lucasfilm and Disney have taken the Star Wars franchise. He explained why saying:

“There’s so many spinoffs of Star Wars. It’s diluting it to me, and it’s taken away the mystery and the magic in a weird way.”

I know some fans feel the same way. There are some spinoffs that I’ve enjoyed like The Mandalorian and Andor, but there are others like Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Book of Boba Fett that were disappointing. I honestly think Star Wars spinoffs are fine… when they are good!

Neeson probably watched Obi-Wan Kenobi and was like, “Yeah, I’m out. I’m not doing that again.” Now, the question is… will people stop asking Neeson if he will return to the Star Wars franchise? Probably not.
