Production has officially begun on the sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Opening day on the shoot was marked with a behind-the-scenes photo of the film’s director and co-writer, Gil Kenan, with co-writer and executive producer Jason Reitman side by side on set. The film, which is referred to as Ghostbusters Hell’s Kitchen on its IMDb page, is being called Firehouse on the set of the film, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the final title involves some iteration of these names.

The next chapter in the Spengler family story will feature the return of the main cast members, including Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Mckenna Grace,Finn Wolfhard, and Ernie Hudson.

It was previously confirmed that the sequel will officially be heading back to New York City — the franchise’s original setting. It is also expected to take place in the firehouse headquarters prominently featured in the first two Ghostbusters films as well as in Paul Feig’s reboot.

Hudson will have a decent-sized role to play in the sequel. Reitman previously shared: “The character of Winston Zeddemore and Zeddemore Industries figures strongly into the future of Ghostbusters.”

Check out the photo below, and let us know if you’re excited to watch the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel on December 20th.
