The hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian has come out at a time rich with Star Wars content. We are just coming off the last trilogy of the Skywalker Saga, there are plenty of series telling other stories from the galaxy far, far away, and we have a couple different trilogies in the works that are being worked out with various creators.
While the show has its own history, characters and lore to explore — and it doesn’t have any plans of slowing down or wrapping up any time soon — some may wonder if we may ever see the show’s main stars crossover into the films at any point.
One of the show’s directors, Rick Famuyiwa, who also writes, executive produces, and has played the role of Jib Dodger in one episode of the series, was recently asked what he thought of the possibility of seeing Din Djarin and/or Grogu in a Star Wars movie. He responded:
“I don’t know what the big plan of everything is, and obviously, there’s so much storytelling happening now in Star Wars. There are series, and a lot has happened in the films. So what that all means in terms of how we create things and for what medium has all started to blur. So I wouldn’t be surprised, but I certainly don’t have any inside knowledge about anything that’s happening in that regard. But there’s a large storytelling community within Star Wars that is very active on the series side and continues to be active when it comes to what may be happening with the films moving forward.”
That sounds about right. I mean, if E.T. can be in a Star Wars movie, then Mando and Grogu could definitely show up! What kind of crossover would you like to see them in?
