Netflix has a new mystery thriller series set in the White House titled The Night Agent, and the first trailer for the project has been released. The show is based on the book of the same name by Matthew Quirk and it’s described as a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller.
The story centers on a low-level FBI agent named Peter Sutherland, who works in the basement of the White House, “manning a phone that never rings -- until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast-moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office.”
This conspiracy seems to involve some kind of assassination plot along with some deep dark conspiracies. It looks like a decent series, and I’m willing to give it a shot!
The Night Agent stars Gabriel Basso as Sutherland, Luciane Buchanan, Hong Chau, D.B. Woodside, Enrique Murciano, Eve Harlow, Sarah Desjardins, Fola Evans-Akingbola, and Phoenix Raei.
The series was created by showrunner and executive producer Shawn Ryan (The Shield, S.W.A.T.), with episodes directed by Seth Gordon (The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, Four Christmases, Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief, Baywatch) along with Guy Ferland, Ramaa Mosley, Adam Arkin, and Millicent Shelton.
The Night Agent series will debut on Netflix starting March 23rd, 2023.
