Shazam! is the only DC movie that I’ve watched and enjoyed in the past several years, so I’ve been excited for Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The sequel has wrapped up production it seems, as director David F. Sandberg made the announcement on Twitter complete with a picture of the film on a monitor. In the picture, we see Zachary Levi as the superhero Shazam and a lightning bolt behind him in a dark area that looks like a sports stadium of some kind and holding the wizard’s staff. It looks like it could be a momentous occasion in the film and I’m hyped for this.
The movie “will continue the story of teenage Billy Batson, who upon reciting the magic word ‘SHAZAM!’ is struck by the Living Lightning of the gods and transformed into his adult superhero alter ego, Shazam. He has the powers of six gods: the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury.”
Fury of the Gods will star Levi as Shazam and Asher Angel as his alter ego Billy Batson. Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, and Djimon Hounsou will be reprising their roles from the first movie and Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu, and Helen Mirren will be joining the cast for the sequel. You can look forward to watching Fury of the Gods on March 17, 2023.
How pumped are you? Do you think Dwayne Johnson will appear as Black Adam?
Finished! Now for a little time off. #ShazamMovie March 17 pic.twitter.com/ocK9kYXTzD
