Hilary Swank (The Next Karate Kid, Million Dollar Baby) is set to star in and executive-produce an upcoming character-driven action thriller titled NAR.
The story for the film is set in Latin America, and in it, Swank plays “a downed pilot, wounded and isolated deep in hostile territory, whose survival relies on trusting a stranger who claims to be part of a vast secret network designed to bring her to safety. N.A.R. (Non-conventional Assisted Recovery) is the name of an actual .U.S Defense Department program.”
This seems like a solid project for Swank to take on. She’s a super-talented actress, and it’ll be cool to see her bring this character to life. It’s a great fit for her.
Peter Berg is producing the film alongside David Thwaites and John Logan Pierson. The movie will be directed by Greg Kwedar, who also co-wrote the script with Clint Bentley.
Swank was most recently seen starring in and executive-producing the ABC/Hulu series Alaska Daily, created by Oscar winner Tom McCarthy (Spotlight). She also most recently wrapped production on the independent feature Mother’s Milk, directed by Miles Joris-Peyrafitte opposite Olivia Cooke and Jack Reynor, as well as the Lionsgate feature Ordinary Angels opposite Jack Reacher breakout star Alan Ritchson.
I just hope she appears in Cobra Kai at some point!
