The first reactions to James Gunn’s upcoming Marvel special The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special have hit social media, and everything that I’ve read so far is super positive! This is a project I’ve been looking forward to watching, and it’s great to see that critics are loving it.
Judging from the trailer that was released, the special looks like it’s gonna offer some funny, heartfelt holiday entertainment. Gunn previously said that this little movie is the greatest thing he’s ever done:
"The Holiday Special is the greatest thing I've ever done in my life. It's totally ridiculous, and every day we can't believe that we're making it. We all completely love it. It is unlike anything that anyone's ever seen before. I can't wait for people to see it."
In the film, Star-Lord is feeling super down in the dumps over his situation with Gamora. So Drax and Mantis head to Earth to bring Peter Quill back the perfect present to cheer him up! Something that he’ll never forget! That gift is Quill’s favorite actor of all time… Kevin Bacon!
The film stars Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, and Sean Gunn as Kraglin. It’s also been revealed that Michael Rooker will appear in the film!
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be released on November 25th, 2022. Check out some of the reactions below and let us know what you think!
