It looks like Marvel’s Hawkeye spinoff series Echo is going through some major issues, and it could be in trouble. I was actually looking forward to Echo because I liked how the character was handled in Hawkeye. It was going to be cool to see her story arc play out with the involvement of Daredevil (Charlie Cox) and Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio).

Back in October, I sent out a Tweet regarding some information regarding the Echo series saying, “Just got some interesting news regarding Marvel’s Echo series. Not at liberty to say what I know, but I’m sure the news will hit soon. Stay tuned.”

Well, the big news has not necessarily hit, but it’s starting to leak out. Cosmic Circus' Lizzie Hill, who is a proven reliable source for scoops, recently took to Twitter to say: "I've been hearing things lately, from previously reliable sources, that make me very very concerned about #Echo. Previous Marvel [productions] have been reported to have problems but have come out ok, so I generally don't get that concerned, but...I am concerned. Hoping I'm wrong to be."

She later added: "Some clarification, tho[ugh] I still can't be too specific [right now], sorry, but my understanding is the issues I'm hearing about (and others) with Echo are with the production itself. Not the character, actress, or even the Daredevil/Kingpin stuff."

The series has finished shooting, and all the things that I’ve heard about it so far came while the project was in the middle of post-production. I can’t say what exactly is going on due to various reasons, but I can confirm on my end that there is, indeed, trouble and it is concerning because I don’t know if the series will even be released or not.

Something is definitely going on behind the scenes, and I imagine that when Marvel figures things out we’ll get a clearer picture of what is going. It’s all pretty confusing right now, though.

In the series, "the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward."

The Echo series is being developed by Etan Cohen and Emily Cohen, who are writers and executive producers on the show. Reservation Dogs star Devery Jacobs also previously joined the cast. The series also stars Zahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene.
