HBO Max has released a full trailer for the upcoming holiday film A Christmas Story Christmas, which is the sequel to the beloved 1983 film A Christmas Story, and I triple dog dare you to watch it!

Peter Billingsley is back as Ralphie, and he returns to his childhood home several years after the events of the first film with his family to enjoy the holiday season. He promises his mom to make this such a wonderful Christmas that it will make his father proud.

This sequel is set in the 1970s, and the story follows an adult Ralphie as he "returns to the house on Cleveland Street to deliver his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had growing up. With the same attention-to-real-life tone of the first, Ralphie reconnects with childhood friends, reconciles the passing of his Old Man and sows the seeds for the origins of the beloved holiday classic."

The film features the return of original A Christmas Story cast members including Ian Petrella as Ralphie's younger brother, Randy; R.D. Robb as the triple dog-daring Schwartz; Scott Schwartz as the frozen-tongued Flick; Zack Ward as the yellow-eyed bully Scut Farkus, and Julie Hagerty (Instant Family) as Ralphie’s mom, Mrs. Parker. The film also stars Erinn Hayes (Bill & Ted Face the Music) as Ralphie’s wife, Sandy; Julianna Layne (Prodigal Son) as their daughter, Julie; River Drosche (Miracle Workers) as son Mark; Davis Murphy (Looking for Dr. Love) as Delbert Bumpus;

Clay Kaytis (The Christmas Chronicles) directs from a script by Nick Schenk (Gran Torino, The Mule). I’m very excited about this movie and it will be incredibly cool and interesting to catch up with these wonderful characters after all these years.

The film will debut on HBO Max on November 17, 2022.
