Ana de Armas is currently working on her next big film Ballerina, which is a spinoff of Keanu Reeves’ action film franchise John Wick. The story follows a young female assassin, who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family — as Wick has against those who have done him wrong.
We’ve got some new details to share with you today that come directly from Ana de Armas, and she revealed that there’s going to be a big action scene that involves her and Reeves. While on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the actress said:
"We've been in Prague filming for four months. We still have one more month to go. And I'm in pain. My body, my back, everything hurts. I'm complaining, I'm sore, I'm bruised. Bond was fifteen minutes, this is a whole movie, another level.”
She then went on to tease and describe the action scene with Keanu, saying:
"But the other day, Keanu and I were rehearsing our very difficult stunt scene, and this man is just rolling and throwing me and doing these crazy stunts, and I'm like, I can't complain anymore, I'm done. Because he is doing it!"
Well, that certainly sounds like it’ll be cool! The action scenes in the John Wick franchise are insane, and I have no doubt that this new spinoff is going to get just as crazy.
The movie is being directed by Len Wiseman, and it also stars Ian McShane, who reprises his role as Winston, the manager of The Continental Hotel; Angelica Houston as The Director, Lance Reddick as Charon, and Norman Reedus in a mysterious role.
Ballerina takes place between John Wick: Chapter 3 and the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4, which is due for release on March 24, 2023.
