Showtime has released the teaser trailer for Yellowjackets Season 2 giving us a first look at what’s in store for the new season. There’s still a lot of mystery surrounding the story and characters of the show. This is one of those stories that continue to build up more questions as it attempts to offer answers. I love shows like this!
Yellowjackets is the saga of “a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.”
The series was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (Narcos), and it’s been described as being “equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama.” If you’re not watching this series, you should be because it’s great! It actually has a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The series also stars Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Ella Purnell, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Sammi Hanratty, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, and Juliette Lewis. Newcomers include Elijah Wood, as Walter "a new citizen detective”, Lauren Ambrose as the adult version of Van, who you can see photos of here, and Simone Kessell, who will be playing adult Lottie. Jason Ritter also joined the cast.
Yellowjackets will premiere on March 24, 2023, and a third season has already been ordered.
