Two-time Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson (Love Actually, Harry Potter, Matilda) has signed on to star in the upcoming action thriller titled The Fisherwoman, from filmmaker Brian Kirk (Luther, Game of Thrones, 21 Bridges). The script was written by Nicholas Jacobson-Larson and Dalton Leeb, who have just been tapped to write the Hot Wheels movie for Warner Bros and Bad Robot. The duo are also currently working on The Fall for Amblin and Blackmaled Productions.
In the film, Thompson is set to play a widowed fisherman who, while trapped in a Minnesotan blizzard, interrupts the kidnapping of a teenager and soon finds she is the young victim’s only hope.
This sounds like an interesting premise. Thompson is a fantastic actress, so I’m sure she will give another great performance in this movie. The Fisherwoman is currently in pre-production.
