Alright, DC fans! DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn has revealed that they're shaking things up and moving away from the classic good guy vs. bad guy trope as they move forward with their upcoming films.

Gunn, the mastermind behind the upcoming DC Cinematic Universe projects, wants to delve into the rich and diverse world of DC characters, exploring the complexity and nuances of morality. He's breaking down the black and white, and diving deep into the complex shades of grey! He said in an interview on the official DC blog:

“With our stories, we want to take it away from good guy vs. bad guy. There are really good — almost saintly — people and Superman is among them. There are really terrible villains like Gorilla Grodd or the Joker. And then there’s everybody in between them, so there are all these shades of gray which allow us to tell complex stories.”

With upcoming projects like The Authority and Waller in the works, showcasing characters known for their morally ambiguous ways, it's clear that Gunn is on a mission to bring a fresh and exciting perspective to the DC Universe.

Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters is the first phase of the new DCU, and it features a flurry of movies and TV shows, some of which include Superman: Legacy, The Brave and the Bold, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Swamp Thing and much more! I have no doubt that Gunn is going to take fans on a wild ride.
